It was announced today that Co-operative Energy is hiking it’s prices for customers on their Pioneer scheme.

The supplier is raising it’s energy prices by an average of 8.5% for gas and 9% for electricity, adding more than £100 per year to the average dual fuel customer.

The price increase has been blamed on the escalating costs of transporting energy and because of their 5% increase in energy costs.

Co-op Energy said: “We are not increasing prices to reward financial investors, but to ensure we continue to run a sustainable business for our members.”
