Consumer Futures chief executive leaves to head debt advice charity

Mike-OConnor3-75dpiChief Executive Mike O’Connor announced last week that he is leaving his post at Consumer Futures to head a debt advice charity in the new year.

The debt advcie charity is called Step Change and it helps people that are having financial struggles to pay back their debts.

Consumer Futures is being split up, with 77 staff moving to Citizens Advice, Citizens Advice Scotland, and the Consumer Council for Northern Ireland next March.

Mike O’Connor said “I will miss the wider consumer world but I look forward to becoming more involved in issues around personal finance…

“I am honoured and excited to be joining an organisation which is doing such excellent work in tackling problem debt which causes so much damage to individuals, families and society.”
