The Department of Energy and Climate Change (Decc) has taken control of the energy-using products policy. which is the biggest area to save on bills.
In 2020, the Decc predicts higher efficiency of appliances will save the average household £158. It is the most substantial element in the government’s calculation that policies will drive a net reduction in bills of 11% by the end of the decade.
The responsibility for energy labelling and energy efficient equipment legislation was previously with the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
