Goole Fields 1 windfarm has officially opened in East Riding, Yorkshire.
More than £45 million has been invested by RWE Innogy UK into the 16 turbine farm which has a capacity of 32.8 MW, which has been fully operational since August.
Community members were also given more information about the Goole Fields windfarm community fund, which is due to go live this autumn.
The fund will invest in the region of £1.3million over the operational lifetime of the wind farm.
Tim Daldry, RWE Innogy UK project manager for Goole Fields windfarm, said: “Goole Fields windfarm is testimony to everybody involved, and will create a cleaner energy legacy for the area by generating home grown electricity from the wind for thousands of homes.”
