South West Water has had it’s annual bill rebate extended to 2015.
Chancellor George Osborne is expected to announce in his statement on the comprehensive spending review next week that the funds will be released for a third year in 2015.
The subsidy is worth £50 per household and was enabled by legislation to address historically high costs in the region.
Despite the support the rebate gives, South West Water has the highest bills in the country due to the relatively small population paying for very strict sewage treatment standards which are there to protect the long stretch of coastline.
George Eustace, MP for Cambourne and Redruth said the move was “very very good news for homeowners in Devon and Cornwall”.
