Siemens has been chosen by Opus Energy to continue it’s smart meter rollout which began in May.
The contract is over 5 years and is for meter operation, data retrieval and processing aggregation throughout England, Scotland and Wales. It follows an initial plot of 500 installations to test Siemens’ install capability and data presentation.
Being able to forecast accurate consumption is key to Opus Energy’s business strategy to procure energy as efficiently as possible. Customers are demanding accurate billing and keen pricing. Customer engagement by Siemens is critical for Opus Energy to minimise disruption when installing meters, so a reliable installation capability was also a priority when the company was choosing it’s selection criteria. Opus Energy is based in the UK and is a business to business energy provider. It plans to have 40,000 smart meters installed by the end of the year.
