The Renewable Energy Association (REA) has increased it’s standing on the continent by strengthening it’s relationship with the European Biogas Association (EBA).
Head of biogas at the REA, David Collins, travelled to Leipzig, Germany to meet the EBA president Arthur Wellington and they have subsequently agreed upon a collaboration over several key issues which include biomethane standards for injection into the gas grid.
Collins said “Many of the issues that will impact on UK biogas are developing at a European level. This partnership is very timely and will be very valuable to our members”.
He added: “We have been a member of the EBA for a couple of years but we have not really used them.
“However, the EBA has really expanded over the last couple of years and now includes all biogas trade associations across Europe and that gives them leverage and influence across Europe, which we hope we can use.”
