British Gas have named current residential arm boss Ian Peters as the temporary Managing Director from December this year, when Chris Weston steps down.
“Ian Peters will hold the managing director post on an “interim basis while a permanent replacement is sought”, parent company Centrica said yesterday.
There are a number of changes during the management reshuffle with changes across repairs branches and business energy.
Stephen Beynon, current MD of British Gas Business will move over to head up British Gas Residential Energy and Chief Operations Officer Stuart Rolland – who has responsibility for the firm’s insulation and smart meter programmes – will take over from Beynon at BGB.
Matthew Bateman, who is currently MD of British Gas Service and Repair will replace Ian Peters as the head of the residential services.
Centrica Chairman Rick Haythornthwaite said Peters has “deep industry knowledge and experience”, adding: “[He] is well placed to assume this role on a transitional basis, as we seek a permanent replacement under Iain Conn’s new leadership.”
Earlier this year it was revealed Sam Laidlaw leaves as Centrica Chief Executive, with his replacement Iain Conn, poached from oil giant BP, joining the company on 1 January 2015.
