The Renewables Infrastructure Group (TRIG) has bought a windfarm with a total capacity of 16 MW in Scotland.

The Earlseat project, located near Kirkcaldy in Fife is an eight turbine windfarm which benefits from  the UK’s Renewable Obligation Certificate support scheme.

Vestas will provide the operations and maintenance services and a power purchase agreement is in place with GDF Suez.

Helen Mahy, who chairs the group said: “This recently commissioned project in Central Scotland provides investors with the benefits of further scale and diversification in line with the company’s investment policy.”

Over 18 months, TRIG is expected to pay around £32 million subject to certain performance adjustments.
