Siemens Metering and First Utility have announced a new contract award which will see Siemens appointed for the metering requirements of First Utility’s SME (small and medium-sized enterprise) in the UK.
It will be a nationwide contract to install AMR (automated meter readings) meters for First Utility’s SME business customers. The technology will help organisations manage their energy usage , be confident that their meter readings are correct and have the opportunity to reduce their carbon footprint.
First Utility’s strategy is to be the first to offer smart meter technology as standard.
Central to the decision to award the contract was Siemens’ reputation and its customer-oriented outlook. Andrew Buxton, Head of Metering Services at First Utility said “Over the next two years, we are expecting to grow our SME base over 100 per cent and having a capable partner is essential for us to meet this target. Siemens won this contract on the basis of its known reliability and its wholly customer-centred approach to our business.
Because we are dedicated to providing the best possible service to our customers, we need to be sure that our suppliers take the same approach – and we are happy that we have made the right choice.” Andrew Gore, Head of Account Management at Siemens Metering, Communications and Services said “With our experience of working with energy and utility customers, Siemens is delighted to partner with First Utility and help it achieve its objectives to be at the leading edge of both metering and customer service.”
